HISTORY

Color World Printers is owned and operated as a family business. Current owners Michael and Bonnie Burgard and Jeff Burgard have been involved for over 16 years. Started by their parents, Stan and Lois, in 1967, it was then a weekly newspaper known as the Gallatin County Tribune. Over the years, Color World Printers became solely a commercial printing plant specializing in marketing communications, direct mail and other corporate communications. Mike and Jeff have been the owners since 1995.

Color World Printers celebrated its 35th anniversary year in 2002. With 45 employees in three locations and nearly $5,000,000 in annual sales, Color World is big enough to do your job right, but small enough to provide personal service. As a family-owned business, Color World brings the strengths of a family atmosphere to the customer relationship. The Burgard family operates Color World with purpose and integrity a level above the typical business. Making your printing experience enjoyable and satisfying is our main goal.

The Burgard family has been residents of the Gallatin valley for over 35 years. They know what it is like to live and work in a beautiful location but still struggle to make a small business work. They are able to help you with your business and its needs when it comes to communicating your message to your customers.

Nestled in the Gallatin Valley, surrounded by the majestic Rocky Mountains, Bozeman is considered to be a prime area of Montana. Home of Montana State University, Bozeman is a community of friendly people and a center for recreation throughout the year. Agriculture continues to be the number one industry for our area, and wheat and barley fields dot the landscape.

Much of the county is fertile farm fields, and over 40% is managed by the U.S. Forest Service providing excellent recreational use.

Bozeman's proximity to Yellowstone National Park has drawn visitors since the railroad was pushed across the country a century ago.

Summer sees the streets full of travel trailers and motor homes as people head to the abundant camping sites and national forests, or to fish in our world-class rivers and streams. The greatest concentration of high tech companies is in laser optics, biotechnologies, computer program designs and environmental technologies. Collaborative research with Montana State University, home of more than 11,000 students, helps these companies thrive.

Bozeman's average yearly temperature is a comfortable 56 degrees and our average growing season is 107 days. Located at an elevation of 4,793 feet, our enjoyable and beautiful winter days can be brisk with plenty of snow covering our mountains and valley. Once summer arrives, the days are long, sunny and warm. The average temperature in August is a warm and pleasant 80 degrees. The sun comes up at 5:30 a.m., and sets at 9:20 p.m. at the summer solstice.

The highest local point is Gallatin Peak at 11,015 feet, located in the Madison Range. The Madison, Jefferson and Gallatin Rivers join together to form the headwaters for the Missouri River.

You won't find finer skiing than in the Bozeman area. We boast the longest vertical descent in the U.S. For the big game hunters, the area offers an abundance of wild game including deer, antelope, elk, moose, bighorn sheep and a variety of small animals.
